Renovating an Apartment Building: Tips

Renovating an Apartment Building: Tips

I had always wanted to be an entrepreneur, so when I saw a local apartment building up for sale at a great price, I decided make the investment. I am a manager by day, so I thought I was ready to be a great landlord. After I had trouble attracting new tenants, I decided to try investing in a few upgrades to see if I could attract more tenants with the added features. I hired a local contractor to work on my first project, which was a fitness room. I remembered that I always looked for buildings with them when I rented apartments! I then had some work done on the grounds and in the apartments themselves. The building is completely full now, so I realized it was a good investment. I decided to start a blog to share my renovating and construction tips with anyone who needs them!

The Pros And Cons Of Limestone Flooring

There are many different types of flooring options available for your home. As such, it can be challenging to select the best flooring option for your space. Taking the time to look beyond the aesthetic of the floor and learn the pros and cons can help to ensure that the floor not only looks great but can handle the everyday wear and tear you put it through. This helps to ensure that your floor holds up and meets your needs. If you are looking for a natural stone floor, limestone may be one of the tile options you are considering. Here are the pros and cons associated with limestone flooring.

The Cons of Limestone Flooring

  • Durability

One of the disadvantages associated with limestone flooring is that limestone is one of the softer types of natural stone. This means that a limestone tile floor may scratch or chip easier than harder types of natural stone floors, such as slate. Limestone is a great option if you are placing it in a space that does not have a lot of foot traffic. However, if you have pets, children or heavy foot traffic in your home, limestone may not have the durability to withstand this type of wear.

  • Maintenance Requirements

The other downside associated with limestone flooring is that limestone tile floors need to be carefully maintained to keep them looking great. Limestone is extremely porous. If it is not properly cleaned and sealed, the floors can become discolored, dull or begin to pit. If you are looking for a low maintenance flooring option, this is not it.

The Pros of Limestone Flooring

  • The Cost of Limestone

One of the biggest advantages associated with limestone floors is their cost. Limestone is one of the most affordable natural stone tiles on the market. It is cheaper than granite, marble and slate tile flooring. If you love the look of natural stone floors, but are on a limited budget, selecting limestone may a good option for you.

  • Lifespan

The second benefit associated with limestone floors is that these floors have an extremely long lifespan. When properly cared for and maintained, these floors will last you your entire life. This means that you will never have to replace the flooring in your home again.

With so many different flooring options available, it is easy to get overwhelmed. However, taking the time to learn about the pros and cons of different types of flooring allows you to hone in on the best flooring option for your home. Contact a company, like Small's Sand Gravel Inc, for more help.
